Vandalism on wheels: 200 juveniles swarm motorcyclist in ventura
A chaotic scene unfolded in Ventura on Saturday as a motorcyclist was left bloodied and hospitalized after being attacked by a mob of nearly 200 juveniles on bicycles and e-bikes.

Authorities describe violent assault
According to a statement from the Ventura Police Department, the alleged assault occurred near the intersection of Mills Road and Main Street in the early afternoon. The group of bicycle-riding youths, estimated to number around 200, traveled in large packs from Victoria Avenue to the area in question.
While stopped at a red light, the pack of teens suddenly swarmed the motorcyclist, overwhelming him and causing his bike to crash to the ground. Witnesses described a brutal melee as the gang of youths kicked and punched the fallen rider before dispersing.
The injured motorcyclist was rushed to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Authorities were able to identify one of the suspects thanks to eyewitness accounts and began monitoring the group, waiting for a chance to make a safe arrest.
When the opportunity arose, police blocked traffic and successfully isolated the suspect, taking him into custody without incident. The juvenile, an Oxnard resident, was booked into Juvenile Hall on felony charges.
Following the incident, the Ventura Police Department urged parents to speak with their children about road safety and the dangers of group behavior. Anyone with further information is encouraged to contact the department at (805) 339-4416.
