Aryna Sabalenka pulled off a stunning upset, defeating four-time Grand Slam champion Naomi Osaka 6-2, 6-4 to reach the quarterfinals at the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells. The world No. 1, Osaka, had not played Sabalenka since their 2018 US Open match, where Osaka won en route to her maiden major title.
