Reds' comeback stuns red sox in thrilling finale

In a back-and-forth battle, Suárez's blast put the Reds ahead 3-2 in the sixth, capping off a stellar series for both teams. The hit marked Suárez's first since rejoining the Reds this offseason and his 190th homer in a Reds uniform, just shy of Brandon Phillips' 12th on the franchise's all-time list.

Reds rookie Rhett Lowder made his first appearance since September 28, 2024, after missing the entire 2025 season with forearm and oblique strains. Despite allowing two runs in five innings, Lowder impressed with five strikeouts.

On the other side, Red Sox pitching prospect Connelly Early, just 23, started one of the Red Sox' first three games in a season since Jeff Sellers in 1987 and the youngest left-hander to do so since Billy Rohr in 1967. Early pitched 5 1/3 innings, allowing one earned run on five hits.

Boston's Wilyer Abreu went 6 for 13 in the series, tallying two home runs, two doubles, and four RBIs. The Red Sox had two late-game opportunities but came up short, falling 3-2.
