Eagles sign jerrod johnson as new quarterbacks coach

The Philadelphia Eagles have bolstered their coaching staff with the addition of Jerrod Johnson, who joins the team as the new quarterbacks coach. The 37-year-old coach parted ways with the Houston Texans after the 2025 season and had previously interviewed for the Eagles' offensive coordinator role earlier this year.

Johnson brings extensive nfl experience

With over a decade of coaching experience in the NFL, Johnson has worked with several prominent teams, including stints with the Minnesota Vikings, Indianapolis Colts, and San Francisco 49ers. His most recent position was as the Texans' quarterbacks coach, where he mentored young QB C.J. Stroud.

Before transitioning to coaching, Johnson had a brief playing career as a quarterback in the NFL, AFL, UFL, and CFL. He played for the Eagles, Steelers, Seahawks, Bears, Ravens, and Cowboys, as well as Texas A&M University.

Sirianni and johnson reunite in philly

This hiring marks a reunion between Johnson and Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni, with whom he previously worked as the offensive quality control coach during his time with the Colts from 2020-2021.

The Eagles' offense has undergone significant changes this offseason, with the departure of longtime offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo and the addition of several new coaches, including former Vikings offensive line coach Chris Kuper and ex-Buccaneers coordinator Josh Grizzard.
