Dodgers rout blue jays 14-2 in rematch of 2025 world series

Shohei Ohtani and Freddie Freeman homered as the Los Angeles Dodgers pounded the Toronto Blue Jays 14-2, a rematch of last year's World Series. Dalton Rushing had a career-first two-homer game, part of a five-home run onslaught by the Dodgers.

Teoscar Hernandez and Freddie Freeman each hit a two-run homer, while Shohei Ohtani added a solo shot as the Dodgers piled up 17 hits against the slumping Blue Jays.

Dalton Rushing had a career first, going 4 for 4 with two solo homers. He was hit by a pitch and scored. Hernandez drove in four, going 2 for 5 with a walk, while Freeman was 2 for 4 with a walk and three RBIs.

Kyle Tucker had a hit, walked and scored three times, driving in a run with a sacrifice fly. Andy Pages had two hits, including a two-run double.

Unlike the Dodgers' five 1-2-3 innings, the Blue Jays only managed one such frame, a 1-2-3 ninth from reliever Tyler Heineman, who made his pitching debut.

Max Scherzer, a three-time Cy Young winner, lasted just two innings, surrendering two runs and two hits with a walk and two strikeouts. He left with an injury, the latest setback in a strained season.

Justin Wrobleski made his first start of the season, allowing one run and two hits over five innings to earn his first win.
