The 45-year-old is set to hold crucial talks with chairman Alan Pace to determine whether he will remain at the helm for next season or part ways by mutual consent.

Parker replaced Vincent Kompany in July 2024, steering the team to promotion in his first campaign. However, Burnley's struggles on their return to the top tier culminated in Wednesday's 1-0 home defeat by Manchester City, sealing an immediate return to the Championship.

Last week, Parker remained noncommittal about his future, stating, 'This season has been a huge challenge for us. Discussions about what we need to do as a football club will take place in due course.'

If Parker does decide to leave, Steven Gerrard and Craig Bellamy are touted as potential replacements, with the former Rangers and Aston Villa boss having recently parted ways with Saudi club Al-Ettifaq by mutual consent in January 2025. Bellamy, currently in charge of Wales, is also highly regarded by Pace.
