Brewers rally past slumping red sox 8-6

Milwaukee's Garrett Mitchell delivered a tiebreaking single in the eighth inning, propelling the Brewers to an 8-6 win over the stumbling Boston Red Sox.

Mitchell's go-ahead hit sends brewers to 8-2 start

Christian Yelich had three hits and an RBI for the red-hot Brewers, who improved to 8-2. Willson Contreras reached base five times and homered for the Red Sox, but it wasn't enough to prevent Boston's eighth loss in nine games.

Mitchell's single off Garrett Whitlock scored two runs, giving Milwaukee a 7-5 lead. The Brewers then added another run when left fielder Roman Anthony's throw to the plate sailed wide, allowing a runner to score.

Aaron Ashby got four outs to earn the win for Milwaukee, and Angel Zerpa worked a scoreless ninth for his first save.
