President Trump declared on Truth Social that the U.S. is engaged in "a massive and ongoing operation to prevent this very wicked, radical dictatorship from threatening America and our core national security interests." The move has triggered a sharply divided response among Western Pennsylvania lawmakers.

Pennsylvania officials divided on iran strike

Republican Senator Dave McCormick voiced strong support, citing Iran's history of hostility, including attacks on Americans and its sponsorship of terrorism. "The Iranian regime has proven time and time again it should not have nuclear weapons," he stated. He added that the president offered Iran a chance at a deal, which was rejected.

However, Democratic Representative Chris Deluzio, a former U.S. Navy officer, called for an immediate congressional vote on the operation, warning of further regional destabilization and potential American casualties. "Congress should reconvene immediately and put an end to this before the region is further destabilized and precious American lives are lost," Deluzio wrote on X.

Senator John Fetterman echoed support for President Trump's action, asserting it was a necessary step toward regional peace. “Operation Epic Fury, President Trump has been willing to do what's right and necessary to produce real peace in the region,” he posted.

Representative Mike Kelly lauded the strike as a demonstration of President Trump's commitment to American security. He emphasized Iran's persistent threat and urged diplomatic engagement alongside the military action.

The operation's commencement signifies a dramatic shift in the approach to Iran's nuclear ambitions, raising questions about the future of regional stability and the potential for further conflict.
