But at this rate, Trump could wipe out half of the Middle East and his supporters might cheer it on.

If you want a career path that allows you to behave badly with impunity, US politics is the way to go. It's incredibly difficult to remove a president, and the system makes it nearly impossible to beat an incumbent. This means those in power often stay there for far too long.

Consider Republican congresswoman Kay Granger, who missed votes due to dementia, or Democratic senator Dianne Feinstein, who died in office at 90 despite serious health issues. Even Joe Biden is still clinging to his job.

So what's the solution? Perhaps we should install AI in the White House. After all, the Trump administration loves technology. An AI president could spend its days golfing while work is handled by artificial intelligence. And if AI-Trump starts acting up, we could always try turning it off and on again. Unfortunately, we can't do that with democracy.
