While Carville's assessment of 2016 may hold some merit, it is irrelevant now given the vastly different political landscape.
The dark cloud of Trump's regime has inadvertently exposed the greed, corruption, and avarice of the US corporate elite. Trump has enabled CEOs and Wall Street titans to operate with impunity, granting them no-bid contracts, exclusive licenses, tax loopholes, and permission to expand monopolies. This blatant corporate welfare has shattered the illusion of corporate social responsibility and "trickle-down" economics, revealing the true extent of corporate America's contempt for average working Americans.
As a result, many Americans are now aware of the corporate elite's willingness to sacrifice the needs of the working class for personal gain. They're voting for progressive Democrats who promise to fight for affordable housing, food, healthcare, and childcare, as well as challenge Trump's billionaire backers and corporate titans who rig the economy against them.
Unfortunately, much of the corporate media fails to report this narrative. When Dr. Abdul El-Sayed won Michigan's Democratic primary against Haley Stevens, the media focused on how his margin of victory fell short of polls' predictions, neglecting the remarkable fact that he won despite being dramatically outspent by Super PACs opposing him.
