Sheriff's office clarifies arrest, condemns mainstreaming of antisemitism
Following a recent press conference where Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard discussed an antisemitic image circulating online, the sheriff's office has issued a statement to set the record straight about a man arrested in Wisconsin.

Arrest linked to unrelated incident, not image posting
Since Bouchard's comments, several individuals have complained about the man's arrest, claiming it was due to the image in question. However, the department has clarified that the individual was taken into custody for an outstanding felony stalking warrant, not for posting the image.
The sheriff's office explained that the picture was only shown to illustrate its concerns about rising antisemitism after the attack at Temple Israel in West Bloomfield, Michigan. The image, which featured Bouchard with a Star of David on his forehead and Hasidic curls, was shared with the department by someone who received threatening messages.
