According to Shomrim, a charity that provides support to Jewish communities and runs a neighborhood watch program, the suspect was seen running along a main road in Golders Green, armed with a knife and attempting to stab Jewish passersby.
Shomrim members responded immediately and detained the suspect, who was then taken into police custody. The London Metropolitan Police confirmed they attended the scene and deployed a Taser.
The incident comes as part of a disturbing string of attacks targeting Jewish communities in North London over the past month, including an arson attack that destroyed several ambulances operated by the Jewish emergency response organization Hatzola.
