Kushner, witkoff to lead us-iran peace talks in pakistan

US President Donald Trump has dispatched his son-in-law Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff to lead the latest round of peace talks with Iran in Islamabad, Pakistan.

The negotiations, set to begin today, come after Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi arrived in Islamabad for a meeting with Pakistani officials.

Kushner and Witkoff, both with extensive business ties to the Middle East, will report back to the President, Vice President, and other key officials.

However, JD Vance, who led the US delegation during the last talks, will not participate. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed Vance is on standby to join the talks if deemed necessary.

Notably, Secretary of State Marco Rubio will not attend the negotiations following criticism of his attendance at a UFC event in Florida during the previous round of talks when discussions broke down.

Iran has denied the reports of the meeting, with Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei stating no talks are planned between the two nations, with Iran's observations to be conveyed to Pakistan instead.

Republican Senator Roger Wicker, head of the Senate Armed Services Committee, has called for an end to the ceasefire, urging Trump to direct the military to destroy Iran's conventional military capabilities and eliminate remnants of their nuclear program.
