Deportada hondureña reunida con marido en base militar después de lucha con ice

Annie Ramos, a Honduran immigrant and wife of U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Matthew Blank, has been released from federal custody after being detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents at her husband's Louisiana military base last week.

Ramos, who is seeking legal status, had applied for protection from deportation under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program in 2020 but her application was not processed before she was detained. Her removal order was issued in 2005 after her family missed an immigration hearing.

Blank, 23, had enlisted Ramos's help in enrolling her in the military's spouse benefits when they visited the Louisiana base in early April, unaware of the ICE agents waiting to take her into custody. The Department of Homeland Security cited a final order of removal in Ramos's case, stating,
