Cal fire firefighter arrested on alleged sexual assault charges

A Cal Fire firefighter-paramedic was taken into custody Friday following an investigation into multiple sexual assault allegations. The Riverside County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that David Renteria, a 51-year-old Placentia resident, is facing serious charges.

Investigation launched after reports of assaults

The arrest stems from an investigation launched in March 2026 by the Riverside County Anti-Human Trafficking Task Force. Deputies responded to reports of sexual assault involving Renteria, leading to the identification of two alleged victims. Initial details remain limited, but authorities are actively working to determine the full scope of the situation.

Friday’s action culminated in a search warrant executed at Renteria’s residence. He was booked on multiple felony counts, including false imprisonment, assault with a deadly weapon, rape by force or fear, and various sexual penetration charges.
