Palm beach deputies' deaths: arrest made in 2024 motorcycle tragedy
Nearly two years after three Palm Beach County deputies were killed in a devastating traffic accident, authorities have finally arrested a suspect. Corrinne Adrianna Blue, 32, faces three counts of vehicular homicide, bringing a measure of accountability to a case that shook the community and left a lasting void within the Sheriff's Office.
A lengthy investigation yields charges
The arrests follow a meticulous, “thorough and complex” investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol, a process that took nearly two years to unravel the circumstances surrounding the November 21, 2024 crash. According to investigators, Deputy Ignacio Diaz, Corporal Luis Paez, and Deputy Ralph Waller were enforcing traffic on Southern Boulevard when Blue, driving a 2019 Jeep SUV, struck them while they were stopped. Blue reportedly attempted to change lanes, encountering slower traffic in the center lane prior to the collision.
The deputies, all seasoned veterans of the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office (PBSO), suffered grievous injuries. Paez and Waller were pronounced dead at St. Mary's Medical Center in West Palm Beach, while Diaz succumbed to his injuries three days later. The tragedy prompted Governor Ron DeSantis to order flags to be flown at half-staff in their honor.
The collective 74 years of service these three deputies dedicated to Palm Beach County—Paez with over 36 years, Waller with 18, and Diaz with 20—represents a significant loss of experience and commitment to the community. “We again mourn the loss of our brothers who dedicated their lives to serving and protecting Palm Beach County,” stated the PBSO in a heartfelt tribute.
