Miami men arrested in human trafficking sting

Fourteen men and a teenager have been charged with human trafficking and other crimes after a two-day operation in Miami aimed at identifying suspects trying to arrange sex with minors online.

Those arrested include a 16-year-old, along with men aged 20 to 43.

The suspects were caught after detectives posted undercover ads and texted with those who responded, saying they were talking to underage girls. The men reportedly continued to engage, agreeing to pay for sexual acts, before being taken into custody without incident.

State Attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle praised the operation, saying it shows the success of cooperative law enforcement efforts against human trafficking. Miami Police Chief Manuel Morales urged residents to report any suspected cases of human trafficking.
