Iqm quantum computers powers galaxy's 54-qubit on-premises quantum computer
IQM Quantum Computers has sealed a commercial deal with Galaxy Systemy Informatyczne for the on-site delivery of a 54-qubit Radiance system. Scheduling installation for the fourth quarter of 2026 at Galaxy's data center in Zielona Góra, Poland, the superconducting quantum computer will be integrated into the company's existing High-Performance Computing infrastructure.

Galaxy eyes quantum for space tech, finance and energy optimization
The acquisition marks a rare instance of a private IT service provider directly procuring quantum hardware, following IQM's previous deployments at public research hubs like Germany's LRZ and Italy's CINECA. By keeping the 54-qubit system on-premises, Galaxy aims to reduce its reliance on cloud-based quantum services and manage sensitive workloads in-house.
Galaxy identifies several target application areas for the system, including space technologies, financial market modeling, and energy grid optimization. The integration of quantum resources into their existing HPC stack is designed to facilitate the development of hybrid algorithms for these industrial sectors.
