Mother arrested after leaving 14-month-old in hot car at casino

A 37-year-old woman from New Jersey was arrested and briefly jailed after leaving her 14-month-old son in a hot car outside Parx Casino in Bensalem, Pennsylvania.

Child taken to hospital after being found sweating in car

Police were called to the parking lot at around 8:15 p.m. after a concerned bystander spotted the infant in distress. Temperatures had soared to the mid-80s outside.

Officers managed to enter the vehicle and safely remove the child, who was visibly sweating. The boy was later taken to a hospital for evaluation before being released to his father.

Investigators determined the child's mother, Leola Dualuqua, had left her son unattended in the car starting at around 6:30 p.m. while she gambled inside the casino.

Dualuqua was charged with endangering the welfare of a child and leaving a child unattended in a motor vehicle. She posted 10% of her $25,000 bail and was released from the Bucks County Correctional Facility pending future court proceedings.
