A powerful storm swept through the Palm Springs North neighborhood Tuesday evening, leaving a trail of destruction and debris in its wake.

Strong winds, heavy rain cause chaos

Residents awoke to find trees uprooted, homes damaged, and streets littered with fallen branches and shingles. The storm's fury was concentrated in a small area, where gusts reached alarming speeds and rain pounded down relentlessly.

At the Gamba residence, a massive tree crashed onto its side, trapping a car beneath its sprawling canopy. Jose Gamba and his family worked tirelessly into the night, wielding chainsaws and hand tools to clear the immense pile of debris.
