Two emergency shelters—one in Lake Park, the other in Brunswick—have been established to accommodate evacuees. Lanita Lloyd, Divisional Emergency Disaster Services Director, stated that they’re initially concentrating on leveraging local resources, drawing on the expertise and manpower of those closest to the affected areas. “We’re acutely aware of the potential for resource depletion,” Lloyd explained, “and will expand our assistance as required, drawing on support from across the state.”
