Mark Cuban Center Hosts Wellness Event for Roosevelt High School Educators

The Mark Cuban Heroes Basketball Center recently hosted a free wellness event for teachers and staff at Franklin D. Roosevelt High School of Innovation in Dallas, Texas. Attendees received complimentary massages and haircuts as part of the initiative.

Prioritizing Educator Well-being

Organizers emphasized the importance of providing educators with opportunities to focus on their own well-being, particularly during the demanding start of the school year. Yesha Davis, a video specialist involved in the event, noted the significant overtime teachers often put in and the need for them to be recognized for their dedication. “They’re putting in that overtime, they need it, they deserve it,” she stated. “We need to cheer them on and let them know that it is all worth it.”

Community Support and Impact

Mark Cuban Heroes Basketball Center CEO Trina Terrell-Andrews highlighted that the center collaborates with over a dozen schools in the North Texas area. “Roosevelt is our neighbor. I think the biggest thing is it takes a village,” she explained, adding that consistent events like this have positively impacted teacher morale over the past three years. Principal Abram Joseph underscored that investing in educators ultimately benefits students. “Ultimately, the students are at the center of everything, so when you can give the best, you can get the best out of the students,” he said.
