Bridgeville meals on wheels faces rent hike, fundraiser underway

Southwest Meals on Wheels, a Bridgeville organization providing meals to those in need, is facing a significant increase in operating costs. The group pays $500 a month in rent, but starting in July, that price will jump to $750, with the added burden of utilities. A representative for property manager Silver Tree Residential estimated the monthly utilities bill could reach $2,000, bringing the total cost to nearly $3,000.

Meals on wheels seeks community support amid rising expenses

Currently serving around 85 customers, the nonprofit does not receive government funding. To avoid having to cut services, it has launched an online fundraiser.
