Dallas Fire-Rescue Units Respond to House Fire, Rescue Cat and Treat Injured Firefighter

Dallas, TX - A dramatic house fire in Dallas on Sunday evening resulted in the rescue of a cat and an injured firefighter, according to officials. Dallas Fire-Rescue units were dispatched to the 6900 block of Echo Bluff Drive just before 6:30 pm after receiving reports of heavy fire conditions in the back of a one-story home.

Upon arrival, firefighters launched an aggressive attack, but the blaze quickly spread to a neighboring property, prompting a second alarm. Despite the challenging conditions, DFR personnel managed to resuscitate a cat found inside the original home. One firefighter sustained a non-life-threatening injury while battling the flames and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Fortunately, no residents of the two affected homes were injured in the incident. Firefighters brought the blaze under control by 7:15 pm, although they continued to ensure all hotspots were extinguished. The cause of the fire remains under investigation, and the severely damaged original residence is currently uninhabitable.
