Multiple victims in long beach shooting as city celebrates new burger joint

Tragedy struck Long Beach on Sunday afternoon as a shooting left at least one dead and multiple others injured. The incident unfolded near the Pine Square shopping center on Pine Avenue around 3:30 pm, police said.

Long Beach police responded quickly, blocking off the area surrounding a parking garage where the shooting took place. As officers tended to the victims, a scene of chaos emerged, with medical waste littering the ground and a sense of unease hanging in the air.

Meanwhile, just a block away, the city was celebrating the grand opening of a new Marathon Burger location. Founded by the brother of late rapper Nipsey Hussle, the restaurant drew a large crowd, including Snoop Dogg and Long Beach Mayor Rex Richardson.
