Demolition clears way for new apartments and retail in st. paul

A vacant CVS store on the corner of Snelling and University in St. Paul has been demolished, paving the way for a major private development project.

Market-rate apartments and new retail expected

The City of St. Paul announced plans for 499 Snelling Realty Company to bring market-rate apartments and retail services to the site.

Bill McGuire, owner of the Minnesota United soccer team and other local projects around Allianz Field, is leading the development.

In a statement, McGuire emphasized the historic importance of the Midway area and the potential for the project to boost vitality and opportunity in the diverse neighborhood.
