Broward woman accused of stealing $120,000 in food stamps from over 200 victims

A 43-year-old Tamica Brown has been accused of stealing over $120,000 in food stamp benefits from more than 200 South Floridaresidents, many of whom were left without money for groceries.

Brown's eight-month scheme targeted vulnerable seniors

Prosecutors say Brown, who appeared in bond court Monday, used stolen EBT card numbers to purchase large quantities of items, which she then resold for cash to corner stores.

Investigators allege Brown worked with at least two men, still at large, to obtain hundreds of SNAP account numbers, often targeting seniors and other vulnerable populations.

One alleged victim, 95-year-old Angela Liriano, said she was left without money for food after her benefits disappeared.
