Abandoned kittens find hope, homes after heartless dump
What began as a display of appalling disregard for life near Donn Eisele Park swiftly transformed into a testament to community compassion this past Sunday. Surveillance footage captured a woman callously abandoning at least five kittens, a scene that sparked outrage and, ultimately, a heartwarming rescue story.

A resident's disgust, a neighbor's action
Glenn Jenkins, a nearby resident, witnessed the incident, describing it as “disgusting and horrified.” The woman, captured on video, discarded the box containing the kittens in under 90 seconds before driving away. But the narrative didn't end there. Peter Carey, another resident, intervened, demonstrating a level of decency that sharply contrasted with the initial abandonment. Carey managed to gather four of the kittens, providing them with shelter and sustenance overnight.
“I went back home, got some tuna, tried to lure them out,” Carey recounted. Remarkably, the kittens, despite their traumatic experience, showed immediate signs of settling in—playful, energetic, and even utilizing a litter box. Carey rightly questioned the perpetrator’s actions, stating, “Be a human. Just have a little bit more compassion.
